In their press announcement, Foxtel and Austar declare: Foxtel and Austar will televise every AFL games live, nationally and commercial free, siren to siren, under a historic new agreement that will revolutionize sports broadcasting in Australia….
AFL fans are indeed bound to enjoy this upcoming season as this media deal will be spurring a lot of broadcasting first, which include the following:

As a result of this expansion, the weekly competition is increased to 9 games per round and all 9 of these weekly matches are to be shown live on Foxstar and Austar on a national basis.
And still another piece of good news for AFL fans: while the main platform for broadcasting these games will be the new dedicated AFL channel, some games will also be scheduled on Fox Sports 1 whenever there is a game overlap or conflict. This will ensure that every game is broadcast live, and the viewer will be free to choose which game to watch AFL games.
